OpenAI's launch of ChatGPT last year represents a new era for content generation. A slew of generative video applications have recently emerged that are almost certainly going to impact the video production industry to a similar degree, but likely in very different ways.
The Smell Test
Large language models such as ChatGPT have proven surprisingly capable of mimicking the way human's write. Although we've witnessed skepticism about just how effective LLMs are in terms of accuracy, few doubt their capabilities when it comes to style, relevance and other creative parameters. LLMs are seemingly passing the smell test, and this will only get better with time as more data are added to the models and bugs are ID'd and addressed.
